Elite Learning, a program of asynchronous online courses in its fifth year serving the students of southwestern Virginia, is a part of the Southwest Virginia Education and Training Network (SVETN). During the 2008-2009 school year, students will choose among 14 sections of 10 different dual enrollment courses, with new courses added each year. At Elite we believe that the true measure of success is not how many students are enrolled or how many courses are offered but the overall experience of individual students in our courses. We believe that in a high-quality online learning environment students need consistent, frequent, and positive contact with their instructor as well as varied and instructionally sound interaction with classmates. To achieve that type of environment, Elite is committed to maintaining low pupil-teacher ratio (no more than 16:1) and insuring maximum levels of student-student and student-teacher interaction.
All Elite Learning teachers are highly qualified in the courses they teach and meet all requirements as established by the Virginia Department of Education as well the Virginia Community College System. In addition, Elite’s teachers receive regular training specific to teaching effectively in an online environment. |
